This is a substitute for the previously scheduled field trip (cancelled due to forest closures).
Approx. 3 miles round-trip, mostly level, one medium uphill; meet at 8:30 AM (to finish around noon).
Directions: take I-25 (north), exit 242, heading east on Hwy 165 (toward Placitas): we will meet at the frontage road parking area on the south side of Hwy 165; this is an immediate right turn after leaving the I-25 exit ramp. We will rendezvous there and caravan to the trailhead.
When you don’t see the usual things, you might see something un-usual. Come find out.
