As the Extension Horticulture Specialist, Dr. Marisa Thompson’s primary interest and responsibility is in the area of urban horticulture in New Mexico, including landscape ornamentals and backyard fruit and vegetable gardening. This program was designed to provide gardeners, green industry professionals, municipal parks staff, and county Extension agents with the knowledge needed to perform sustainable horticultural practices in New Mexico.
Dr. Thompson is the author of Southwest Yard & Garden, a gardening column that is published weekly in newspapers and magazines across the state and is shared on social media.
